Two Callings, One Heart
When people ask me what I do, it’s not always easy to give a short answer. Some days I’m preparing a sermon or meeting with someone for counseling. Other days I’m visiting a children’s home, or standing in front of a classroom talking about human trafficking prevention. At first glance, these may seem like very different kinds of work — pastoral ministry and justice ministry. But in my heart, they are one and the same calling.
In everything I do, my desire is to see freedom and transformation — people set free by the love of Christ.
This season has been full and exciting. I’m currently helping prepare for our upcoming 5000 Steps for the Victims of Human Trafficking Walk, a visible reminder that together we can take a stand against human trafficking and raise awareness in our communities. In November, I’ll also be doing two presentations — one in a high school and another at a university — helping young people understand how exploitation happens and how they can protect themselves and others.
At the same time, I’m deeply grateful for my ongoing ministry within the church community. Preaching, leading our ladies’ Bible study and prayer time, and walking alongside people through counseling and pastoral care are sacred spaces where God’s presence is often felt most deeply. There’s something special about opening the Word together, praying for one another, and watching faith take root and grow.
Recently, I had the chance to visit the children’s home again — a place that always reminds me why prevention and pastoral care go hand in hand. Each child carries a story, and while we can’t change their past, we can help shape their future with love, safety, and truth.
Sometimes it feels like I’m standing with one foot in two worlds — one focused on the church, the other on the broader community. But both are expressions of the same heartbeat: to bring hope, healing, and freedom through Jesus. Whether I’m preaching from a pulpit, leading a small group, or speaking in a classroom, it’s all part of the same mission — helping people discover their value and the transforming power of God’s love.
As I prepare for the coming weeks and the many opportunities ahead, I’m reminded that it’s not about doing more, but about staying rooted in the One who calls and equips. Thank you for praying, encouraging, and standing with me in this journey. Together, we are seeing glimpses of God’s kingdom breaking through here in Hungary — one life, one step, one heart at a time.
