Report from the field: Hungary Q2 2026 As I look back on the past three months, I am filled with gratitude for the many opportunities God has provided to serve, build relationships, and share His love in practical ways across Hungary. “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:18 Church & Discipleship One of the greatest blessings of this season has been the opportunity to invest in people through personal relationships. I have spent many hours meeting with individuals for coffee, conversation, counseling, and prayer. These one-on-one moments often become places where people can ask questions, share burdens, and experience the hope and encouragement found in Christ. Our weekly Ladies’ Bible Study has continued to be a source of fellowship and spiritual growth. Together, we have been studying the letters of 1 John, 2 John, and 3 John, discovering the practical wisdom and encouragement they offer for everyday Christian living. We have also had the privilege of exploring these same themes in church as we look at wisdom from the letters. This spring we also enjoyed a special pizza lunch with university students, creating another opportunity to build community and strengthen relationships with young adults. Pictures right: I had the privilege of preaching in Gyor on Easter Sunday! Set Free Movement Hungary The ministry of Set Free has been especially active over the past few months. I had the privilege of giving a large human trafficking prevention presentation to more than 60 teenagers from several different schools, encouraging young people to recognize the dangers of exploitation and understand their value and dignity. My educational outreach has also continued to expand into universities. In addition to social work students, I was invited to speak with nursing and business students, opening exciting new doors to raise awareness among future professionals who may encounter vulnerable individuals in their careers. We also led school presentations in Szeged, participated in Easter outreach programs, and continued regular ministry at the children’s home and safe home, where we seek to bring hope, encouragement, and practical support to vulnerable children and families. Another highlight was helping organize art therapy and cultural programs for vulnerable children, creating a safe and creative space where they could express themselves, build confidence, and simply enjoy being children. Building Partnerships God is bringing together many organizations and individuals who share a heart for freedom and justice. Over the past few months, I have had the opportunity to participate in conferences, develop new partnerships, and strengthen existing relationships. I am especially excited to share that the Hungarian Freedom Network is beginning to take shape. Alongside organizations including Névtelen Utak Alapítvány (Anonymous Ways Foundation), Üdvhadsereg Magyarország (Salvation Army Hungary), and Door of Hope, Set Free Hungary is honored to be one of the founding members of this growing collaborative effort. My prayer is that by working together, we can strengthen anti-trafficking efforts and provide even greater support for those who are vulnerable and those who have experienced exploitation. Family Update As a family, we are enjoying the beginning of summer and looking forward to the months ahead. Our son has finished another year at kindergarten, and we are grateful for God's faithfulness and provision through a busy season of ministry and family life. We also recently welcomed a new four-legged member to our family! Chase has quickly become part of the household and has already brought plenty of joy, laughter, and adventure to our home. Thank you for praying not only for the ministry but also for our family as we seek to serve God faithfully in Hungary. Ways to Pray: As you pray for the months ahead, I would especially appreciate prayer for: Our summer camp ministry in July, which will take place in two different locations this year. Please pray for wisdom in planning, for the volunteers and leaders, and that every child and family we encounter would experience God's love. Continued preparation and organization for the 5000 Steps March on October 17. The growth and development of the new Hungarian Freedom Network, that God would guide this partnership and use it to bring lasting impact. Wisdom, strength, and balance as I continue serving through church ministry, discipleship, prevention education, and outreach to vulnerable communities.
